How to get there

San Casciano in Val di Pesa village is situated 5 Km far from the omonimous outing of the raccordo autostradale RA03 (dual carriageway connecting Florence to Siena) and 8 km far from Firenze Certosa exit of Autostrada A1 motorway.

You can easily get to the holiday house which is close to the centre of the village, following indication signs for I Chisci car park, that is about 50 metres beyond, on the same road. If you need more information just ask us.

Travelling in Tuscany without a car?

Visiting Tuscany without a car is not a big issue for the guests of our vacation home. There is a coach service that connects San Casciano in Val di Pesa to Florence, from there you can get trains that will lead you to any Tuscan or Italian city.

Public transport to/from Florence historic centre

A frequent interurban coach service by SITA/ACV connects the village of San Casciano to Florence, Siena and other tourist resorts of Tuscany. So you can avoid using a car to move away from the vacation home. The coaches departure station is in the heart of Florence, 60 meters (196 feet) from main train station Firenze Santa Maria Novella, few hundred meters from main cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore, Uffizi museum etc. The journey takes about 30 minutes. The departure/arrival bus stop in San Casciano in Val di Pesa is about 700 meters (2296 feet) from the holiday house.

To reach Siena by bus you will have to change at Poggibonsi, it's simpler to use a car as there are many car parkings in the city.

Public transport to/from Florence Airport

Florence Airport Amerigo Vespucci is at 32.5 km (see map). From outside the airport you can take a Taxi (about 60 euros) to Il Visciolo or get ATAF shuttle service (see the timetable) to Florence Santa Maria Novella and then take an interurban bus service (see above) to San Casciano.

Public transport to/from Pisa Airport

Railway tickets are sold at the information office in the arrivals hall, the railway terminal is located 40 meters outside the departures hall.
From the airport leaves a train to Florence main station every 30 minutes, take one and get off at the final stop (Firenze Santa Maria Novella). The travel takes about one hour. An intercity coach service station (Autostazione SITA) is just 60 meters from the train station. There are at least two departures every hour for San Casciano in Val di Pesa, ticket is cheap, less then 3 Euros.

Pisa airport is bigger than Florence one and is connected with many EU cities with low cost flight from Ryanair.
